Nine cars entered for TCR Denmark premiere at Padborg Park

Nine cars have been entered for this weekend’s TCR Denmark season opener at Padborg Park.

The list is headed by five-time champion Kasper Kensen of Mascot Motorsport, with team-mate Malte Edbrup driving a second Honda Civic alongside him.

Main title protagonists TPR Motorsport is also fielding two Hondas, with last year’s title runner-up Mike Halder racing alongside team-mate René Povlsen.

Two of the main front-runners of the championship are missing from the season opener as former F1 driver Jan Magnussen, who will race an older generation Honda for DM Racing in the remaining rounds, has got a clashing commitment with his son’s GT programme.

Magnussen’s DM Racing team-mate Lars Højris will race a Hyundai i30 N TCR this weekend as the two Honda Civic Type R TCR FK7s of the team were not ready in time for this weekend, with the team switching from the Hyundai to Hondas for the second round.

Missing is also Michael Markussen, who has switched from Cupra to Honda this season, and the Dane is yet to announce the reason for his absence.

The first TCR Denmark race weekend of 2025 starts with qualifying on Saturday, followed by three races on Sunday.
