Eric Gené stripped of Race 1 podium

Eric Gené has been stripped of his second-place finish in the first TCR Europe race of the season opener at Portimao following a post-race penalty.

The Monlau Motorsport driver was involved in a first-lap incident with Felice Jelmini and Marco Butti which saw the latter two retire from the race.

The stewards demoted Gené from second to fifth, elevating Jenson Brickley to second, Teddy Clairet to third and Nicolas Taylor to fourth.

Felipe Fernández was also handed a penalty for an incident with Max Hart, dropping the Spaniard to 12th.
