BRC Racing Team confirms Gabriele Covini and Alex Ley for TCR Italy

BRC Racing Team has confirmed a pair of Hyundai Elantra N TCRs for Gabriele Covini and Alex Ley in the 2025 TCR Italy season which starts this weekend at Misano.

“We are looking forward to an interesting season,” said Gabriele Rizzo, team principal of BRC Racing Team.

“TCR Italy is one of the most competitive national TCR championships you can participate in. We are pleased to be able to field two cars with two very young drivers. As a team, we have the clear objective of offering these guys the best technical package in the category, thanks to our Hyundai Elantra N TCR and the great experience gained in the world championship.

“Over the winter, we offered them the opportunity to test together with the official drivers and it was impressive to see their improvements. They both showed great potential, we expect to continue to see them grow from session to session. The results will come accordingly.”

Ley finished eighth overall last season, driving a Hyundai for Target Competition.

“I’m really excited to start racing with BRC Racing Team!” said Ley.

“I tested with them two years ago when I was a Hyundai Junior driver, it’s great to finally have a championship season together! I’m really looking forward to this year, the goal is to do better than 2024 and continue to improve as a driver.”

Covini will start his second season with BRC Racing Team, having finished 15th overall for them last year.

“I am very happy to be able to race again in TCR Italy with BRC Racing Team. They welcomed me with enthusiasm for my debut last year, supporting me with a great team and with the fundamental coaching of Gabriele Tarquini,” said Covini.

“This year I am starting the season with more experience and confidence, also in light of the excellent feelings I had in the pre-season tests. I am convinced that we can do very well, especially in the junior category.”
