Charles Rainford hails WSR team effort after front-row qualifying
Charles Rainford has heaped praised on West Surrey Racing after qualifying on the front-row at Brands Hatch for the first of tomorrow’s three British Touring Car Championship races.
On just his second outing in the series, the BMW driver topped the times in opening practice and then upped the ante when it came to qualifying as he finished less than a tenth of a second behind stable-mate Jake Hill.
“It’s fantastic,” said Rainford. “The car is feeling much better than it did at Donington Park and huge credit must go to everyone at West Surrey Racing because they’ve worked incredibly hard. There have been many late nights put in to make the whole package better.
“To now be on the front row with Jake is a fantastic reward. I’m going to be starting at the opposite end of the grid this time round; I learnt a lot in race three
“Coming into the weekend I’d done a lot of homework on previous races here so we’ll do even more tonight and come back tomorrow to see what we can do.”
