Dan Cammish: “This one means the world to me”

Dan Cammish has shared his delight at putting the disappointment of Brands Hatch behind him by clinching his second pole position of the season in the British Touring Car Championship.

The Alliance Racing driver was cruelly denied a possible podium last time out due to an ignition issue but he made amends at Snetterton as he smashed the qualifying lap record to clinch top spot.

Cammish’s best time was almost a second faster than the previous best around the Norfolk venue and has in-turn set him up for pivotal race day as he looks to ignite his championship challenge.

“This one means the world to me, fantastic,” said Cammish. “After last week, there’s not a better way to bounce back.

“We’ve got a fantastic car, an amazing team and group of people around me, but I’m proud of myself for putting last week behind me and coming out swinging today when it mattered.

“The Q3 time was quite a lot faster than my Q2 and I thought that I must’ve been in a class of my own, but then I saw how close we were to Tom (Ingram).

“I’m really proud of this one and tomorrow we will have a good fight on our hands.”
