Tom Ingram under lap record pace in second practice
Tom Ingram dipped under the existing qualifying lap record as he topped the times in the second and final practice session for the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton.
With the track having dried following a damp opening session, Ingram set the pace in his Hyundai i30 Fastback N machine as he finished more than four tenths of a second clear of his closest challenger.
That aforementioned challenger was another Hyundai, albeit the Restart Racing entry of Daniel Lloyd who jumped up to second in the final ten minutes.
Power Maxed Racing’s Mikey Doble posted the third fastest time in his Vauxhall Astra while Alliance Racing’s Dan Cammish and EXCELR8’s Adam Morgan completed the top five.
Reigning champion and free practice one pace-setter Jake Hill led the line for West Surrey Racing in sixth, narrowly ahead of three-time title winner Gordon Shedden – who was the first of three Speedworks Motorsport Toyota’s.
Rounding out the top ten was Chris Smiley, Aron Taylor-Smith and James Dorlin. Finishing hot on their heels were the likes of Dan Rowbottom and Donington Park race winners Tom Chilton and Ash Sutton.
Qualifying at Snetterton is scheduled to begin at 15:10.
