Dan Rowbottom reigns supreme in second Snetterton contest

Dan Rowbottom became the latest winner in the 2025 British Touring Car Championship as fended off an onslaught of Hyundais to triumph in race two at Snetterton.

The Alliance Racing driver started in fourth place but was crucially the first on the preferred soft tyre – with the top three of Dan Cammish, Tom Ingram and Ash Sutton all lining up on the hard compound.

Pole sitter Cammish would sadly drop down the order from the get-go as Sutton hit the front however it wasn’t long before Rowbottom had rallied and was soon filling the mirrors of Ingram, who had moved up to second place.

Heading into turn one, the EXCELR8 driver got slightly out of shape and slammed into the barrier. With his Hyundai hobbled, the former champion limped back to the pit lane and into retirement.

Back at the front, Rowbottom wasted no time in closing the gap to his Ford Focus ST team-mate and found a way past in no time at all. He wasn’t alone in finding a way past the multiple title winner though as Restart Racing’s Dan Lloyd also carved his up a position.

Rowbottom’s race was far from over though as he was soon swarmed by Lloyd, Adam Morgan and Tom Chilton. Lloyd briefly found a way past but masterful driving from Rowbottom soon saw him back out front.

While contending for the lead, Lloyd would lose out to both Morgan and Chilton as the EXCELR8 duo fought their way forward and that would be where they would finish, with neither of them being able to overhaul Rowbottom.

Lloyd and team-mate Chris Smiley completed the top five while Power Maxed Racing’s Mikey Doble and One Motorsport’s Josh Cook enjoyed an almighty scrap for sixth and seventh.

Completing the top ten was Sam Osborne, Charles Rainford and Sutton, who was the best of those on hard tyres.

The weekend’s third and final race at Snetterton is scheduled to get underway at 16:55.
