Ash Sutton dominates second Thruxton contest

Ash Sutton produced a flawless performance in race two at Thruxton to claim his third win of the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season.

Starting from fourth on the grid, the Alliance Racing driver made a lightening start to take the lead by the time the field had reached Allard Corner and from that point on he was never challenged.

The Ford Focus ST stretched his legs out front to comfortably reign supreme and in the process, he set a brand-new race lap record around the Hampshire venue.

Behind, race one winner Tom Ingram cruised to second place although he did briefly come under pressure from the One Motorsport Honda of Josh Cook, who recorded a second successive podium finish of the day.

Frustratingly though Cook would be disqualified from the race result for failing the technical ride height checks.

His demise meant that Dan Rowbottom was promoted up to third place after he came out on top of an almighty scrap with reigning champion Jake Hill, the pair scrapping and swapping positions across a number of laps.

Dan Cammish fought back from a sluggish start to finish fifth while Senna Proctor continued his fine return to the series as he hustled his EXCELR8 Hyundai to sixth place.

James Dorlin was seventh and will now start the reverse grid contest from pole position whilst completing the top ten was Chris Smiley, Daryl Deleon and Daniel Lloyd.
