Jenson Brickley: “I could have attacked Halder”

Monlau Motorsport driver Jenson Brickley climbed up onto the podium with second place in the first TCR Spain race of the weekend at Valencia from sixth place on the grid.

“The race was a bit boring,” Brickley told TouringCarTimes.

“I got a really good start, I got a bit surprised, because Markussen stalled in front of me and I had to swerve.

“But I still managed to do four cars at Turn 1 and then another one at Turn 2. Mike (Halder) was a bit faster, so I couldn’t stick with him. But yes, good race and good pace overall.”

A late safety car session saw Brickley right on the back of race winner Mike Halder and the Brit said he had a chance to attack that he did not take.

“I could have tried to attack Halder at Turn 1, but everyone behind was fighting so I could have ended up backwards, so I settled for second. And P2 from P6 is good, I look forward to reversed grid race tomorrow,” said Brickley.
