Julien Briché penalised for Race 1 incident

Julien Briché (Hyundai) has received a time-penalty for an incident during the first FIA World Tour race at Valencia.

The stewards deemed Briché had rejoined the track unsafely after going wide at Turn 1, causing a collision with Honda driver Marco Butti who had to retire from the race.

The Frenchman, who had initially crossed the finishing line in seventh place, received a five-second time-penalty, dropping him to 12th position.

The decision has promoted Honda drivers Ruben Volt, Esteban Guerrieri and Felipe Fernández to seventh, eighth and ninth respectively, while Cupra driver John Filippi is tenth and inherits the reversed grid pole position for Race 2.
