Mike Halder makes it a TCR Spain double at Valencia

TPR Motorsport driver Mike Halder scored his second victory of the weekend in Race 2 at Valencia, host of the second 2025 TCR Spain round.

Sebastien Thome (Audi) took the lead from the pole position at the start, with Marco Aguilera (Hyundai) in second place and Guillaume Savoldelli (Audi) right behind.

Honda drivers Halder and Sten-Dorian Piirimagi overtook Aguilera who, under pressure from Cupra driver Jenson Brickley, hit the tyre barrier on lap two, with the safety car coming into action as Demir Eroge (Honda) separately spun off of the track.

The race was relaunched on lap four, with Thome leading ahead of Halder and Piirimagi while Brickley overtook Aguilera for fourth position.

Monlau Motorsport driver Eric Gené overtook Savoldelli for fifth on lap five and started closing the gap to Aguilera.

Further back, Samuel Chaligne (Cupra) received a drive-through penalty for jumping the start.

Halder attacked Thome for the lead on lap seven and the latter went wide at the last corner, losing to the German driver as well as Piirimagi.

Savoldelli retired to the pits at the end of lap eight due to a technical issue.

Gené continued his charge and overtook Brickley for fourth position on lap eleven. The pair of Cupra drivers continued mounting the pressure on Thome, with both overtaking the Audi driver on lap 15, dropping him to fifth.

Halder claimed his second victory of the weekend at the chequered flag, with Piirimagi and Gené completing the podium.

Brickley was fourth, followed by Thome and Enric Bordás (Audi). Michael Markussen (Honda) recovered from the back of the grid to finish seventh ahead of Aguilera and Victor Fernández (Honda). Sergio Casalins (Audi) completed the top ten.

The next round of the TCR Spain season takes place on the 19-21 September at Jerez.
