Mike Halder and Jan Magnussen claims Ring Djursland victories
Mike Halder claimed two wins in the TCR Denmark race weekend at Ring Djursland while Jan Magnussen secured his first win since 2023.
TPR Motorsport driver Halder started the first race from pole and headed the field from lights to flag.
Former F1 driver Magnussen started second but was beaten into Turn 1 at the start by rival Honda driver Malte Ebdrup.
Magnussen then found himself in a tough fight for third place with reigning champion Kasper Jensen.
The fight ended abruptly with just three minutes left of the race as Magnussen went off into the barriers due to a broken wheel nut.
This brought the safety car out and the field ended the race behind it, handing Halder victory ahead of Ebdrup, Jensen and René Povlsen in a decimated field which saw just six cars taking the chequered flag.
The second race had Mathias Dall starting from pole ahead of Magnussen who snatched the lead as soon as the lights went out.
Jensen made a strong start from fifth on the grid to claim second place before the end of the first lap, with Halder following closely behind in third.
The sole non-Honda driver in the form of Hyundai driver Marco Dahl turned Povlsen around with seven minutes left of the race.
Magnussen won the race with a margin of just over a second ahead of Jensen while Halder completed the podium.
The third and final race saw Halder starting from pole ahead of Jensen, Ebdrup and Magnussen.
Halder claimed the lead as the lights went out while Ebdrup made a better start than Mascot Motorsport team-mate Jensen who fell behind to third place.
Magnussen and Povlsen had a race-long fight for fourth place, with Magnussen coming out on top.
Halder was on his own in the final race to win by close to two seconds ahead of Ebdrup while Jensen was a distant third, eight seconds behind Halder.
Halder heads the standings on 265 points, 15 more than Ebdrup and 25 more than Jensen.
The next TCR Denmark race takes place in Copenhagen on August 9-10.
