Benjamín Hites joins El Pinar grid
Benjamín Hites will make his TCR debut when he joins the grid for the latest round of the TCR South America season at El Pinar.
Hites will take over the PMO Racing Peugeot 308 TCR that was previously raced by Genaro Rasetto as he make the move over from GT competition.
The 26-year-old was a front-runner in the Ferrari Challenge North America before moving to Europe, where he won the International GT Open and also took top honours in the Silver Cup class of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup – including class victory in the Spa 24 Hours.
“It’s a nice opportunity having been invited to race in the Peugeot, especially because I have no experience in driving TCR cars,” he said.
“It will be a weekend in which I will face a lot of things I don’t know, but I’m confident. I have a week to prepare that I will use to train on the simulator and study the regulations. I want to be ready, because I will race against the best drivers of South America.”
