One Motorsport to miss remainder of the season as focus switches to 2026

One Motorsport have confirmed that they will not participate in the remaining rounds of the British Touring Car Championship this season and instead will turn its focus towards making a return to the series in 2026.

The Brackley-based team had initially announced that they would sit out the most recent rounds at Croft and Knockhill due to team owner Steve Dudman experiencing a number of health of issues.

That has now been extended to cover the final three events of the current campaign at Donington Park, Silverstone and Brands Hatch – with Dudman’s current health status being highlighted as one of several factors in the decision-making process.

“After careful consideration One Motorsport has determined that it will not participate in the remaining rounds of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship,” read the team statement.

“This difficult decision has been made based on several factors, including the current health status of Team Owner Steve Dudman, as his involvement and support remain key in multiple areas for the team.

“We are now primarily turning our focus to the 2026 campaign, strengthening for the future operation, success and longevity of the team and its race cars.

“This will be achieved through the reinforcement of current commercial and technical partnerships, along with securing new partners, to ensure that when we return, One Motorsport is competing at the sharp end of Britain’s premier and most prestigious motorsport championship.

“We would like to thank our partners, supporters and loyal fans for their incredible ongoing support and backing this year, you’re the reason we do this, stick with us and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates on our 2026 return in due course.”

One Motorsport had taken a pause from the BTCC in 2024 but returned as promised this year with two Honda Civic Type Rs for multiple race winners Josh Cook and Stephen Jelley.

Over the first half of the season Cook scored two podium finishes and a number of Independent wins while Jelley was able to tally a handful of points before the team’s hiatus. He then switched to Un-Limited Motorsport for a one-off round at Croft.
