Gabriele Covini set for TCR Europe outings

Gabriele Covini will join the TCR Europe grid for events at the Red Bull Ring and Catalunya after expanding his programme with the BRC Racing team.

Covini has been competing with the team in TCR Italy this season and sits inside the top ten in the standings having scored a best race result of fourth.

The youngster also picked up a maiden pole position in the series at Imola last time out.

Covini’s move up into TCR Europe will see him remain at the wheel of a Hyundai Elantra N TCR, with guidance coming from the experienced figure of Gabriele Tarquini.

“I’m thrilled to be able to participate to the TCR Europe,” Covini said, “[although] it won’t be easy considering both circuits and tyres are completely new to me.

“I’m preparing the best I can to be ready to adapt quickly to all the new features of the TCR Europe, with the main goal of continuing to grow.”
