GRM enters a Peugeot for joint TCR World Tour and TCR Australia race
Garry Rogers Motorsport has announced the entry of one Peugeot 308 P51 TCR for Jordan Cox in the joint FIA TCR World Tour and TCR Australia round at The Bend next weekend.
“I’m absolutely excited, I haven’t been able to race TCR this year, but I still love it and have definitely missed it,” said Cox.
Cox finished fifth overall in TCR Australia last year for the team, scoring four victories and has raced in the Trico Trans Am series this season where he currently is placed fifth.
The Australian driver is going to race the latest generation Peugeot 308 which has been built by Garry Rogers Motorsport in Australia.
“The category brings such a tough racing style, and while Trans Am is similar in that way, they are two very different categories,” said Cox.
“Aerodynamically you can lean on that area of the car a lot more in the TCR and the braking points are a bit deeper so there’s just a lot of mental notes to be aware of jumping between the two as I will at The Bend.
“I’m up for the challenge of double duties, I did it once last year, I certainly won’t be short of racing laps and it will be awesome to represent Schaeffler and my personal partners Viola Private Wealth across two different categories in the one weekend.
“We’ll be on the world stage for TCR which is super cool but I’m really not concerned about the spotlight, it’s just about focusing on doing the best job possible for the team in what’s going to be a super competitive field filled with the world’s best.”
Cox becomes the seventh so far confirmed Australian entry for the race at The Bend:
