Ignacio Montenegro penalised for incident with Thed Björk

Ignacio Montenegro has been handed a penalty for an incident with Thed Björk during the first FIA TCR World Tour race of the weekend at The Bend in Australia.

The two fought for fifth place at the beginning of the race, with GOAT Racing driver Montenegro passing the Cyan Racing driver on lap two while making contact.

And the stewards deemed the contact unfair and handed Montenegro a five-second post-race penalty, dropping the Honda driver from fifth to seventh.

The penalty elevates Björk to fifth and Ma Qing Hua to sixth.
