Kasper Jensen wins Padborg Park finale while Malte Ebdrup is champion
Kasper Jensen bounced back from his retirement in Race 2 to win the third and final race of the Padborg Park season finale while his team-mate Malte Ebdrup finished second and was crowned champion.
Ebdrup started the final race from pole position and got a solid getaway to claim the lead as the lights went out.
Jensen made a strong start as well and was up to third place on the first lap, then passing Magnussen for second place on lap two.
The outgoing champion then quickly closed in on his Mascot Motorsport team-mate and made a daring move around the outside of Ebdrup to claim the lead at the same corner where they clashed in controversial style in Race 2.
There was further drama for Jensen as his driver’s side door opened and flapped around in the wind, with the Honda driver fearing a technical flag.
But Jensen remained cool despite the issue to win the race with just over 1.5 seconds over Ebdrup.
Magnussen was a distant third ahead of Dall brothers Mathias and Magnus in fourth and fifth place.
Ebdrup has broken Jensen’s impressive run of five consecutive titles and becomes the second only driver to be crowned TCR Denmark champion since the start of the championship in 2020.
