Steve, Sam Laidlaw to make TCR Europe debut

Steve and Sam Laidlaw will step up to TCR Europe for the final event of the season at Catalunya.

The father and son pair will compete in the CUPRA Leon VZ TCRs that they race in TCR UK, with Area Motorsport team once again running the cars.

It will be the first time both team and drivers have competed in the series having shown race-winning pace at national level.

“The purpose of Barcelona is for us to understand the progression that we’ve made this year, against what we know is the very highest of touring car standards,” said Steve Laidlaw.

“You’ve got the best drivers in the world in TCR Europe, and that is irrefutable, no matter what the championship denomination is.

“I think for us to go there and measure ourselves against those guys, who are supreme in skill, and learn from them to accelerate our growth further has always been the plan.”
