Néstor Girolami heads Inje Speedium shakedown
Néstor Girolami headed the first shakedown of the FIA TCR World Tour weekend at Inje Speedium in South Korea, a session dominated by Hyundai drivers.
Girolami lapped the circuit in 1:41.164 to beat BRC Hyundai team-mate Mikel Azcona by three tenths of a second.
Esteban Guerrieri was fastest of the Honda drivers for GOAT Racing in third place, 0.330 seconds behind Girolami.
Six of the top ten places were occupied by Hyundai drivers, with local hero Junesung Park in fourth, reigning champion Norbert Michelisz in fifth and TCR Australia champion Josh Buchan in sixth as the final driver within one second of the top time.
Guerrieri’s team-mate Ignacio Montenegro was seventh fastest behind the wheel of his Honda Civic FL5 ahead of points leader and Lynk & Co Cyan Racing driver Yann Ehrlacher in eighth, 1.2 and 1.3 seconds from the top time respectively.
Thed Björk (Lynk & Co) and Choi Jeongweon (Hyundai) rounded off the top ten.
The first free practice session is scheduled for 14:50 local time/07:50 CEST on Friday.
