Junui Park heads Hyundai top four in first free practice at Inje Speedium
Local hero Junui Park headed a Hyundai top four in the first free practice session of the FIA TCR World Tour weekend at Inje Speedium in South Korea.
The Solite Indigo Racing driver lapped his home circuit in 1:41.062 to beat BRC Hyundai driver Mikel Azcona by a massive four tenths of a second.
Solite Indigo Racing team-mate Junesung Park was third fastest, 0.513 from the top, while TCR Australia champion Josh Buchan was fourth fastest, 0.759 seconds behind.
Points leader Yann Ehrlacher was fastest of the non-Hyundai driver in fifth place for Lynk & Co Cyan Racing, over a second from the top time.
Dusan Borkovic was the lead Honda driver in sixth place for GOAT Racing, setting an identical lap time as Ehrlacher.
French Cupra driver Aurelien Comte claimed seventh ahead of Australian Hyundai driver Ryan MacMillan.
Néstor Girolami (Hyundai) and Thed Björk (Lynk & Co) rounded off the top ten, 1.1 and 1.5 seconds from Park’s top time respectively.
FIA TCR World Tour front-runners Norbert Michelisz and Esteban Guerrieri both struggled during the session, setting the 15th and 18th fastest time respectively.
The session was red-flagged once as Jeongweon Choi stopped at Turn 7.
