Thed Björk tops final Inje Speedium practice
Thed Björk rose to the top in the second and final FIA TCR World Tour free practice session at Inje Speedium in South Korea ahead of TCR Australia champion Josh Buchan.
Björk lapped the circuit in 1:40.906 compared to Junui Park’s best FP1 time of 1:41.062.
HMO Customer Racing driver Buchan (Hyundai) was 0.194 seconds adrift in second place while Santiago Urrutia made it two Lynk & Co Cyan Racing drivers in the top three, 0.453 seconds behind his team-mate.
Honda driver Esteban Guerrieri, who is placed second overall in the standings, was fourth fastest, seven tenths slower than Björk.
Mikel Azcona, who was second fastest in the first practice session, was fifth fastest ahead of points leader Yann Ehrlacher.
Local driver Junesung Park was seventh fastest and the final driver within one second of Björk’s time while Néstor Girolami rounded off the top eight.
Reigning champion Norbert Michelisz continued to struggle and was 12th fastest, 1.4 seconds from the top time.
The track was declared wet at the beginning of the session, but the forecasted rainfall did not reach the circuit during the session.
Next up for the FIA TCR World Tour field is qualifying, starting at 10:00 local time/03:00 CEST on Saturday.
