2026 TCR World Tour calendar set for expanded Asian leg as Australia is axed
The 2026 FIA TCR World Tour calendar will have an extended Asian leg as the Australian round has been dropped for the coming season.
“We were asked by the teams to extend the Asian part of the championship, so we will have two rounds in South Korea, two in China and then Macau,” said Marcello Lotti, head of WSC.
The ongoing process of finding a new TCR Australia promoter have caused the Australian round at The Bend to be dropped.
“We won’t go to Australia in 2026. We hope to announce the new promoter for the TCR Australia soon,” said Lotti.
The WSC director also dismissed the possibility of a second round of the FIA TCR World Tour in South America in 2026.
“There was a contact for a possible event at Termas de Rio Hondo,” said Lotti.
“But the possibility didn’t materialize, so there will be only one event in America in 2026.”
There will be three rounds in Europe, just like this year, while the venues are to be confirmed.
“In total, we are looking at eight events for next year, starting in Mexico and then having three events in Europe,” said Lotti.
“We would then move to Asia, with one race in South Korea, two in China and Macau to close the season.”
The calendar is expected to be issued on the 13th of December.
