TCR Australia set for five-race calendar in 2026

TCR Australia will return for 2026 with a five-race calendar following an agreement between WSC, the TCR rights holders, and owners of The Bend circuit.

The series will race at The Bend and Mallala Motorsport Park next year, circuits owned and maintained by the same organisation, with dates and split between the two circuits set for reveal on December 10th.

“We are committed to the motorsport industry. We also believe that we share the responsibility of promoting categories that support aspiring motorsport enthusiasts,” said Sam Shahin, Managing Director of The Bend Motorsport Park.

“TCR is a global category that deserves its rightful place in Australian motorsport.

“Our involvement is a testimony to the category, the brands it represents, and the teams and drivers that see it as a pathway to World TCR abroad, or a pathway to other categories in Australia.”

TCR Australia has struggled over the past couple of years, with the 2025 season being delayed several times before being reduced to just two rounds.

The Bend hosted the 2025 season opener together with the FIA TCR World Tour while the Macau Guia race acted as the season finale, a race which only attracted two Australian entries.

While the FIA TCR World Tour will not return to Australia and The Bend for 2026, WSC president Marcello Lotti is confident that the cooperation with The Bend will boost the series.

“The Bend is a world class facility with a world class reputation,” said Marcello Lotti, head of WSC.

“We are thrilled to work with Motorsport Australia and The Bend to deliver TCR Australia in 2026. We hope to build on this relationship in the future.”
