Viktor Andersson joins Monlau Motorsport in 2026 TCR Europe

Viktor Andersson is going to join Monlau Motorsport for the 2026 TCR Europe season, driving one of the team’s Cupra León VZ TCRs, and becomes the first confirmed driver for the series.

“To join Monlau Motul Motorsport to race in TCR Europe is a big step in my career,” said Andersson.

“To join a championship-winning team and drive the Cupra León VZ is just the challenge I’ve been looking for, let’s go!”

The Swede, who will receive backing from Cupra Sweden, completed a first test with the team at Barcelona earlier this month.

“It’s an incredibly professional team and a fun bunch that I’m really looking forward to working with,” said Andersson.

“We had good conditions, 15 degrees and a dry track, I managed to drive almost 100 laps. There are some differences compared to the car I’ve competed with before in TCR, so I have to work on some adjustments. The test days at Catalunya were a perfect warm-up for the upcoming season.”

The 22-year-old finished eleventh overall in TCR Europe last year, driving a Lynk & Co 03 TCR for his family-run team MA:GP.

“The team warmly welcomes Viktor Andersson, a Swedish driver with strong credentials from TCR Europe,” said team manager David Simon.

“After dominating TCR Europe for two seasons in a row, Monlau Motul continues to build a line-up at the absolute top level. The recruitment of Andersson further strengthens a project that never loses momentum.”

Andersson took part in three FIA TCR World Tour race weekends last year and father Mattias Andersson has confirmed to TouringCarTimes that they are evaluating further appearances in the global series this year.

Reigning drivers’ and teams’ champions Monlau Motorsport are yet to reveal the identity of Andersson’s team-mates but are expected to do so within the coming weeks.
