Adam Shepherd penalised for incident with team-mate Viktor Andersson

Adam Shepherd has been hit with a penalty for an incident with Monlau Motorsport team-mate Viktor Andersson during the final lap of the second TCR Europe race at Mugello.

Shepherd made contact with Andersson after the second and final safety car restart while fighting for sixth place.

The stewards handed the Cupra driver a five-second penalty for the incident which dropped him from sixth to 17th place, elevating Andersson to sixth.

Team-mate Marco Butti was also handed a five-second penalty for an incident earlier in the race with Hyundai driver Junesung Park which dropped him from second to eighth, a position changed to seventh following Shepherd’s penalty.

Another post-race change to the result is the exclusion of Raphaël Fournier due to a “breach of the specification for the intake system maximum boost pressure” of his Hyundai Elantra N TCR, with the JSB Competition driver having finished the race in 14th place.
