Daryl De Leon re-signs with West Surrey Racing for 2026 season

West Surrey Racing has confirmed that Daryl De Leon will remain with the team for a second successive season in the British Touring Car Championship.

The Anglo-Filipino driver joined the team last year and enjoyed a breakthrough season behind the BMW 330i M Sport, scoring a maiden win at Brands Hatch and xx further podium finishes on his way to the Jack Sears Trophy title.

De Leon also claimed pole position at each of the final two rounds, and he has continued that pace into 2026 having topped the times at the official pre-season at Croft last month.

“I’m excited to continue with WSR for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship and want to thank everyone who made this possible,” said De Leon.

“Racing the BMW in 2025 was an incredibly valuable and rewarding year for me in every way. Taking my first win, securing my first pole positions and winning the Jack Sears Trophy title are achievements we can all be proud of, however with the new season just around the corner the focus is now on repeating that success.

“I’m really happy to keep working with my engineer and crew as we continue to grow stronger together. We showed good pace during pre-season official testing at Croft, so hopefully we can carry that momentum into the season ahead.”

Dick Bennetts, WSR Team Principal, added: “We’re very pleased to announce Daryl as part of our 2026 British Touring Car Championship line-up.

“Moving from a front-wheel-drive touring car to a rear-wheel-drive machine is a bigger challenge than many people realise, but Daryl did extremely well to adapt to the differences needed in driving style and was rewarded with his first win, two pole positions and the Jack Sears Trophy.

“With a year of experience under his belt, I’m confident that together we can move forwards and challenge for wins and podiums more consistently this coming season.”
