Viktor Andersson joins FIA TCR World Tour grid at Misano

Viktor Andersson will join the FIA TCR World Tour season opener grid at Misano next weekend, racing his Cupra León VZ TCR for Monlau Motorsport.

“It will be amazing to be back on the grid again,” said Andersson.

“The competition will be super-high which is a really good benchmark and for us to both understand and learn against the highest level.”

The 22-year-old is currently racing in TCR Europe and TCR Spain for Monlau Motorsport and heads the Spanish standings.

The Swedish driver has made wild card appearances in the FIA TCR World Tour previously and raced at Misano in TCR Europe last year.

“Misano is a track I enjoyed last year, though hopefully it will be a few degrees lower than when I was there in TCR Europe,” said Andersson.

“I also hope the CUPRA suits the circuit, I have a few events under my belt with it already, and the car and I are getting to know each other quite well.”

Andersson, who is aiming to join the Valencia grid as well, becomes the eighth so far confirmed entry for the season opener.
