Motorbase could run four cars in the 2013 season

Motorbase Performance have said they could run an additional NGTC-specification Ford Focus later in the season, which will see the Kent-based team run four cars in the British Touring Car Championship for the first time.

Speaking to Inside BTCC at the team’s official unveil of the Airwaves Racing Ford Focus at Dagenham Edgware yesterday, Team Principal David Bartrum said:
“Don’t forget there is another NGTC car to come as well so there will be a third NGTC car. We aren’t sure who is going to drive it yet.”

Bartrum also explained that the fourth car would be run as a team-mate to Liam Griffin if it does materialise. Griffin’s car will be entered under a different name to his two Motorbase team-mates Mat Jackson and Aron Smith, who will both race under the Airwaves Racing banner. All four cars will still be run by the Motorbase Performance team as a single operation.
