Tom Ingram signs new multi-year deal at EXCELR8

Tom Ingram will remain a part of EXCELR8 Motorsport and Team Vertu for at least the new three British Touring Car Championship seasons after agreeing a new extended deal.

Cementing his future on the grid until at least the end of the 2029 campaign, the two-time champion is set to continue his storied rivalry with fellow title winner Ash Sutton, who recently announced a five-year deal of his own.

Ingram joined the Hyundai i30 N Fastback squad in 2021 and quickly clinched a first-ever win for the team. The following season, the 33-year-old charged to a maiden championship title.

Following two seasons as runner-up, Ingram returned to the top of the BTCC summit in 2025 as he reclaimed the title. This past year, he secured runner-up laurels once more.

“It goes without saying that I’m delighted to extend my deal with Team VERTU to at least the end of the 2029 season as this team feels like home and there is nowhere else, I’d rather be,” said Ingram.

“When I first signed with EXCELR8, this was a team that was still the new kid on the block with lofty ambitions of making it to the top, but I knew there was the chance to do something special.

“Over the last six seasons, we have shared so many highlights – from the first win at Snetterton through to twice lifting the title at Brands Hatch – and I’m hugely excited to see what we can achieve together over the next three seasons.

“Reclaiming the title next season is the obvious target, and everyone involved in the team is fully focused on making sure that we are in the best possible position to do that next season.”

Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Team Owner, added: “Tom’s record in the BTCC speaks for itself and we’re delighted to be able to confirm him as part of our driver line-up for at least three more seasons.

“From the moment he first got behind the wheel of the Hyundai, Tom has become a crucial part of the EXCELR8 story and his drive and desire to succeed has been reflected in the results we have secured together over the past six seasons.

“I have no doubt there will be plenty more silverware to come and we’re all working hard to challenge for title number three in 2027.”
