Mikey Doble delighted to finally clinch Independent Drivers’ title
Mikey Doble was quick to share his delight after wrapping up the Independent Drivers’ Championship title during the British Touring Car Championship finale at Brands Hatch this past weekend.
Having twice missed out on lifting the coveted crown, the Power Maxed Racing made sure 2026 was his year as he converted his healthy points advantage into title glory at the Kent circuit.
It capped off a memorable year for the Audi A3 Saloon driver which saw him claim two overall wins, a pole position at Silverstone and secure a top-six finish in the Drivers’ Championship.
Doble’s performances also helped LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing seal the Independent Teams’ Championship as well.
“I’m so happy to be standing here as the Independent Drivers’ Championship,” said Doble. “This has been the one that has eluded me in each of the past two seasons but we’ve stuck at it and now we’ve got the job done.
“Going into the weekend I felt pretty chilled and that was because we’ve worked hard all season to build up the points gap. Of course there were a few nerves on race day but they pretty much disappeared once we were racing.
“I said coming into the season that I wanted to become a multiple race winner, finish top-six in the Drivers’ Championship and win the Independents’ title. We’ve done all three and that is a testament to the entire LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing team.
“What we’ve all achieved this year is incredible, especially considering where the team was just over a year ago. To be walking away with the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles – in the manner in which we’ve done it also – is phenomenal.”
