Schedule for TCR’s F1-supporting season opener confirmed

The start of the inaugural TCR International Series is going to be held during the Formula 1 weekend at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. The schedule has now been confirmed by the F1 and TCR organisation.

“All the work and effort we have put in over the last few months are now getting ever closer to becoming reality with this inaugural event. I am personally grateful to Bernie Ecclestone for trusting our project and I am sure that this will hugely boost the motivation of all our teams and drivers, pushing them to properly entertain the spectators as they wait for the Formula 1 race,” said Marcello Lotti, head of TCR.

The TCR weekend starts on Friday the 27th with two practice sessions of 20 minutes each, followed by the two-part qualifying session and first race on Saturday the 28th, just before the F1 qualifying session. Sunday is finished with the second race, just before the start of the F1 race.
