Andreas Andersson confirmed to drive a SEAT for LMS Racing

Andreas Andersson has been confirmed to drive a SEAT León for Finnish racing team LMS Racing in selected rounds of the 2017 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.

”To race in the STCC has been a long-standing goal for me. It’s going to be great to make my debut on my home track, Knutstorp is the circuit I have driven most laps on and I have high hopes for a strong result. The goal is a podium finish,” said Andersson.

The 25-year-old is so far confirmed for the season start at Knutstorp and is currently hunting sponsors for further races.

”It is tough to get the finances together, all my free time is set to finding sponsors. The season start at Knutstorp is secured today and Alastaro looks promising. Other than that, we will see, but I am also looking at Solvalla in June. It is an important race with all media and spectators on site,” said Andersson.

Andersson has driven club endurance racing in Sweden and most recently secured the 2016 Ginetta GT5 Challenge Sweden title.

LMS Racing is planning to field five cars, two Audis and three SEATs, in the 2017 STCC of which two are full-season with drivers Olli Parhankangas and Kari-Pekka Laaksonen.
