Knutstorp practise

BMW-driver Richard Göransson was fastest of all during the saturday testing. Göransson lapped the Knutstorp circuit in 1:02.941 and was the only driver to breach the 1:02 barrier. Closest to Göransson was Rustad only 0.077 seconds behind Göransson.

“I will leave here on sunday with a victory,” Göransson said after the practice session. “We have had a really good saturday. But to be completely honest I´m not completely sure where we stand.”

Rustad was equally pleased with being second. The Opel-team got a new engine for the Astra only yesterday.

“It went really well today, the team is absolutely fantastic,” Rustad said.

Edward Sandström was fourth in his Volvo behind Thed Björk who is driving for BMW. Sandström was surprisingly enough quicker than his team mate Robert Dahlgren who was tenth.

“Saturday isn´t the most important day,” Dahlgren said. “It´s more about getting the car in one piece to the final race.”

Johan Nilsson was notably 14:th quickest in his dieselpowered BMW 320d. Johan lapped the circuit about four seconds slower than the others. Not too bad with the first ever S2000 diesel which the team have constructed on their own without factory support. Stay tuned for the races tomorrow, TouringCarTimes will ofcourse report from the scene!
