Testing at Mantorp

Carl Rosenblad topped the STCC test which was conducted today at Mantorp. The previous WTCC-driver was more than 0.5 seconds faster then his closest contender. Rosenblad was very happy and very confident about the coming premiere.

– I’m offended if anyone is surprised, we are going to win it all. We are not returning to STCC to finish second. We got it all right today and I can tell you that we are well prepared for the premiere, a confident Rosenblad said.

Virtually all STCC teams were present today at a sunny Mantorp Park. Even Flash Engineering with their all new BMW 320si. The team had two cars present, Göransson’s new 320si and Sandströms 320i. Current champion Göransson was third fastest.

He was just out paced by Tommy Kristoffersson in the for this season updated Audi A4.
– Perfect, we couldn’t have gotten a better start. The car feels perfect, I only have positive things to say about this day, Kristoffersson said.

Teamboss Kristoffersson was the only driver of the Audi-team present today while the two other cars for Ekblom and Björk were being prepared in the work shop.

Tomas Engström who has topped several of the previous tests were fourth in his Honda Accord. He took foruth ahead of Sandström and Rudholm, both driving the older BMW 320i model but for different teams.

Robert Dahlgren took eight with his Polestar prepared Volvo S60. But the Volvo-team had severe engine problems today. Both Dahlgren and Storckenfeldt stopped on the track with blown engines. The Volvo team have a new engine developer for this year and it remains to be seen if it was a good switch.
