Thed Björk carries most weight

Thed Björk is carrying 40 kilos of penalty weight after winning the first race and leading the championship. With only one race completed yet, the list is quite easy to follow. Ekblom came second at Knustorp and is carrying most weight after Björk, and so on.

While the top eight drivers are carrying weight, all drivers outside top eight are down to the base weight of 1140.

The rules are a bit complicated, but all drivers in the championship gets 20 kilos of extra weight at the start of the season. Depending on the result from the prevous race and the position in the championship, this weight can be reduced and increased.

Lets take Thed Björk as an example:

Base weight= 1140 kg

Weight added for all drivers= +20 kg
Penalty for winning at Knutstorp= +20 kg
Penalty for leading the championship= +20 kg
=
1140+20+20+20= 1200 kg

But Robert Dahlgren on the other hand is carrying no extra weight at all. He retired from the first race at Knutstorp, and this is how his weight is calculated:

Base weight= 1140 kg

Weight added for all drivers= +20 kg
Weight reduction for previous result= -20 kg

1140+20-20= 1140 kg

Richard Göransson‘s, who finished fifth at Knutstorp, BMW will weigh 1160 kilos at Gelleråsen today. Here is how his weight is calculated:

Base weight= 1140 kg

Weight added for all drivers= +20 kg
Weight reduced/added for his previous result= 0 kg

1140+20= 1160 kg
