Thed Björk on pole again
Despite carrying 60 kilos of penalty weight – Thed Björk claimed pole position at Våler in Norway today. Björk’s lap time was 56.704 which was 0.104 seconds faster than Richard Göransson in second. Audi team boss Tommy Kristoffersson took third place.
“This is great! I had a really good lap, I had a little slide coming in to the chikane but it was ok. It will be a tough race later today,” Björk said after the qualifying.
On the fast and short circuit the lap times were as expected very close. Seven cars were within three tenths of a second.
Current champion Richard Göransson claimed second spot on the grid and was pleased.
“The lap felt good. As usual we have trouble getting the temerature high enough, but the result is more than ok. The race will be very interestning,” Göransson said.
During the earlier qualifying session which decided the super pole Volvo were in trouble. Dahlgren went off track in the final minutes of the session, causing red flag. His team mate Alexander Storckenfelt ran in to engine trouble and spent the last part of the qualifying in the pits with the bonnet open.
Carl Rosenblad was close to a big off as he spun on the main straight. Fortunately he managed to regain control over his car and continued without any damage.
The race starts at 16.00 CET today which is new for this weekend only.
