Huisman aiming to win at Mantorp

Duncan Huisman lost the chance for the title after the race at Knutstorp. He finished fifth after a hard battle with Tommy Kristoffersson. The goal now is to take the win during the last race at Mantorp Park and aim for the team championship for West Coast Racing.

After the Knutstorp race Huisman was upset not only by the fact that he lost the chance for the title, but also at Dahlgren for blocking him in the race.

“Robert is maybe looking for a drive at Audi next year looking at the way he blocked me. It was a hard and intense fight but I can’t really see why he blocked me in at the start of such a long race where I was fighting for the championship,” Huisman said after the race to STCC.se.

When Huisman finally passed Dahlgren he quickly gained on Tommy Kristoffersson who held fourth position behind his two team mates Fredrik Ekblom and Thed Björk. When the two fought for the position alot of contact was made between them.

“Tommy just drove in to me so I had nowhere to go, except for the barriers which didn’t seem as a good alternative at the time,” Huisman said and added:

“Once again I had a good car in the race, but wasn’t close enough in the qualifying. Perhaps it is me and not the car, I don’t know, but once again we missed by the smallest possible margin to move on. Now we have to fight for the team championship and I would like to win one race – Mantorp is the last chance.”
