A new car for Andersson?
Mattias Andersson is working hard on getting to the STCC grid of 2007. Currently his Alfa Romeo is on sale and he wants a new car.
“I am aiming to sell it and will try to the end of January. If it is not sold by then I will most likely do one more year with it,” Andersson said.
The Alfa Romeo 156 is from 2002 and currently Andersson has received some interest from a buyer in Russia.
“I would rather see it stay in Sweden, perhaps in the privateers cup “Caran Cup”,” Andersson said.
The privateers cup could be an option for Andersson.
“For sure, the car is old enough to compete in the cup and the tyre rules are better now. Caran Cup was an alternative last year, but I felt the rules regarding tyres were a bit too restrictive. I want to be able to fight for top positions and then you need the right conditions for it.”
Next week Andersson flies down to Italy to visit Alfa Romeo and the WTCC-team Auto Delta for feedback, discussions and new parts for the car.
