New Honda Accord for Engström

Honda-man Tomas Engström will be on the grid of the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2007 with a brand new Honda Accord. The car is build by JAS Motorsport, and the co-operation with them is extended.

“It feels very nice for the coming season. The co-operation with Honda has been very inspiring and by being settled for 2007 early we have been working on the preparations for a good while now,” Engström said.

The car is further developed in several new areas and testing with the car will start in March in Italy.

“I have driven the Accord in two seasons and I have felt that there is a lot of potential for further development. We are progressing nicely when it comes to the engine and gearbox for the new car, so we are focusing on the chassis now.”

More personnel from JAS Motorsport will be present at each STCC race this year. The Honda team will also do a couple of races outside STCC.

“STCC is one of the toughest and most competitive series out there. But I will also take part in the ETC Cup and possibly also the WTCC race at Monza on the 7:th of October.”
