TouringCarTimes Awards results – STCC

The results of the TouringCarTimes Awards in the Swedish Touring Car Championship category are in. Champion Fredrik Ekblom has been elected best driver of the 2007 season. He was voted best STCC driver of the year with 12% down to Richard Göransson, who finished third, and 13% to Robert Dahlgren, who finished second. Ekblom’s team WestCoast Racing was voted best STCC team, beating Flash Engineering, who won the team title, with 4%.

Just as in the WTCC awards, BMW was voted best manufacturer. The margin down to second placed Volvo was immense: 33%. Audi took third place with only 5% of the votes.

German Frank Stippler took the title as best rookie with 42% of the votes ahead of team mates and rookies Roger Eriksson and Fredrik Lestrup. The final race of the year at Mantorp Park, where all title contenders were eliminated in the first corner, was voted best race.
