Viktor Hallrup confirmed for Chevrolet Cruze

Reigning Swedish Touring Car Championship independents champion Viktor Hallrup has been confirmed to drive a brand new Chevrolet Cruze with Chevrolet Team Sweden.
“It is somewhat of a dream come true for me,” said Hallrup.

The Chevrolet Cruze is currently being built by RML, the Chevrolet WTCC team, and is going to be of complete 2010 specification. Team boss Nicklas Karlsson is pleased over the new program for 2010.

“It has been a long time of hard work for us to reach our goal to get on the grid with the new Cruze and a competent driver behind the wheel,” said team boss Nicklas Karlsson.

Hallrup claimed the independents crown last year driving a BMW 320i E46 and is going to take a step up for this year.

“After I won the Semcon Cup last year, we have worked hard on the goal of joining a STCC team with good material,” said Hallrup.

The Chevrolet Cruze showed strong from in the World Touring Car Championship premiere with a 1-2-3 in the first race.

“The goal with our STCC program is to fight in the top of each race with our new Chevrolet Cruze model. We look forward to two more successful years with Nicklas and his team,” said Jonas Ahnve, MD for Chevrolet Sweden.
