Rickard Rydell tested for Chevrolet Team Sweden

Rickard Rydell tested for Chevrolet Team Sweden at Knutstorp a few days ago.
“It was really fun to be behind the wheel again, I have not driven a racing car since Macau in november last year,” said Rydell.

The Swede was there to help regular driver Viktor Hallrup for the final four races of the Swedish Touring Car Championship.
“The purpose of the test was to help the team and Viktor to find the right settings and to get data to compare with as Viktor is the sole driver of the team,” said Hallrup.

Hallrup has struggled with the new Chevrolet Cruze this season and is 11th in the championship with sixth place as his best finish.
“There has been a lot of new things for me this year and his [Rydell’s] tips, coaching and analyzing of data has been very good for me. We have worked intensively with settings during the day and I am really looking forward to the races at Karlskoga this coming weekend,” said Hallrup.

Rydell enjoyed driving the Chevrolet Cruze and hopes the test work will improve the results for Hallrup.
“The car is well balanced and good as a base, it responded well on the adjustments we made during the test. I hope it will help Viktor to better results in the coming STCC races,” said Rydell.

Rydell has previously driven for Chevrolet. The Swede made a one race-appearance for the WTCC Chevrolet team in 2007, driving the Lacetti at Anderstorp, winning one of the races, much to the discontent of team mate Nicola Larini who was on the way to his first WTCC victory.
