First test of 2011 for Rickard Rydell

Rickard Rydell and Chevrolet Team Sweden completed the first test of 2011 ahead of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
“We have been driving all day. I felt right at home when I was driving the car,” said Rydell.

The team completed the test at the Spanish track Calafat, with Rydell working closely with his engineer Jonas Jarlmark.

“The idea was that we were going to spend the day learning the track and for the team to work together, but we have done changes on the car all day long and learned a lot about the car, me and my engineer Jonas,” said Rydell.

Rydell has completed a couple of short tests with the Cruze late last year, his previous experiences of the Chevrolet extends to his one-off race at Anderstorp in WTCC 2007, driving the older Chevrolet Lacetti.

“The Lacetti was well-balanced, but the Cruze is even better. RML has done a terrific work with this model. It acts like a single seater, you do not need to wait for the front-end to settle in the corners and it is really fun to drive,” said Rydell.

The team is heading to Circuit de Catalunya later this week for two days of testing along with Polestar Volvo and the WTCC Chevrolet factory team.
