Fredrik Ekblom relaxed ahead of title fight
Championship leader Fredrik Ekblom is relaxed ahead of the title fight in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship races at Knutstorp this weekend.
“I am really looking forward to settle this now,” said Ekblom.
Ekblom heads Chevrolet driver Rickard Rydell with eleven points with two race weekends and four race heats left of 2011.
“It is going to be fun to head to Knutstorp. We tested there last friday and got the answers we wanted,” said Ekblom.
Ekblom and Rydell has followed each other for the majority of the season and the duo has pulled away in the points from the other drivers.
“I do not feel any increased tension because I am in the lead. On the contrary. The feeling in the team is relaxed, but focused. We are together creating the best possible conditions and it feels incredibly inspiring when everyone are pulling in the same direction,” said Ekblom.
Rydell and Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden has brought in WTCC racer Michel Nykjaer in the title fight, Ekblom has got Johan Kristoffersson as “his” third driver.
“It would be nice with a podium before the season is over,” said Kristoffersson.
