Daniel Roos joins Flash Engineering for STCC finale

22-year-old Daniel Roos is going to drive a third BMW 320si for Flash Engineering in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship finale at Mantorp Park.
“It is going to be great to take a step up and drive the STCC finale for Flash Engineering,” said Roos.

The young Swede is going to join regular drivers Jan “Flash” Nilsson and Colin Turkington.

“I have followed Daniel’s development for a good while and he was the driver alongside Marcus Ericsson who performed best in Bräck Talent Development. Daniel has shown in both single seaters and GT cars that he is a promising and talented driver. We are looking forward to have him in our team and we are looking positive at further plans for 2012,” said Jan “Flash” Nilsson.

Roos has previously raced single seaters and GT, with titles in both Formula Ford and Formula Renault. The STCC races at Mantorp Park will be his first ever in a touring car and the team is going to test at Karlskoga next week as a preparation.

“The BMW is completely new for me and the test is going to be very useful. But I am a fast learner and I was in the very top of Camaro Cup despite that I only had a short test before the races at Jyllandsringen,” said Roos.

Roos is keeping his ambitions modest ahead of the upcoming finale at Mantorp Park on the 24th of September.

“It is going to be very interesting to see where I am compared to drivers like “Flash”, Göransson and Rydell. I have never before faced a greater challenge and I have no specific expectations result wise. I know that I am fast and it feels incredibly inspiring to face the very elite of Swedish racing, all of them with vast experience of these cars. I am going to do my best and try to get in to the top,” said Roos.
