No racing for Rickard Rydell in 2013

1998 BTCC champion Rickard Rydell has announced that he is not going to race in 2013.
“I am not going to drive this year! Two years at home in STCC was fun, but not like driving for a factory team. I’d rather remember 1989 to 2009 abroad,” Rydell wrote on his Twitter feed.

The Swede joined Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden for the 2011 STCC season, clinching the title on his first try with a Chevrolet Cruze, and remained there for the 2012 season where he finished second.

Rydell had a year off racing in 2010 as well, when leaving the SEAT WTCC team after the 2009 season where he finished seventh overall.

The plan for Rydell this year is to work with Viasat Motor on the Swedish TV broadcasts of Formula One, among other things.
