Chilean TCR race postponed to 2016

The TCR International Series has announced that the planned race at the Codehua International Cirucit in Chile on August 9th has now been postponed due to major upgrades taking place at the track which won’t be completed before the scheduled date.

The circuit has also been dropped from Argentina’s premier touring car category, the Super TC 2000 Championship for this year.

“The Chileans are working hard and have already made a huge effort to build such a great facility which is the first permanent race track of international standards in their country,” said TCR CEO Marcello Lotti. “We did not want to put additional pressure on them to make the requested adjustments in time to host our races and so we will work together to visit Chile in 2016.”

The race will not be replaced on the TCR calendar, and so the International Series inaugural season will now consist of 11 rounds.
