Patrick Watts confirms two Peugeot 406s in 2015

Two Peugeot 406s will line up on the grid for the opening round of the 2015 SuperTCC season, Patrick Watts has confirmed.

Speaking at the Silverstone Classic media day, the former BTCC driver was pleased to confirm the pair of Peugeots for the coming season, the second of which will be driven by his close friend Malcolm Harrison.

“It’s great to see the two of them out,” Watts told TouringCarTimes. “We’ll both be on the grid at Donington, although I won’t be qualifying so I’ll start from the back of the grid. We’re here to have fun and have some good races.

“The biggest change over the winter is we’ve got the second car back from Australia, which hasn’t been raced since 1998. We’ve had Malcolm Harrison join us for this year so we’ve spent a lot of time checking his car out and getting it ready.”

New team-mate Harrison is relishing the opportunity in a Super Tourer, and looked eager to get behind the wheel of the 406.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Harrison to TouringCarTimes. “I have no idea what it’s going to be like so there’s a certain amount of fear and trepidation. The car hasn’t been out since 1998, so it’s going to be lovely to see the two out together and with Patrick starting from the back at Donington, it’s going to be a lot of fun starting the season where I want to finish – in front of Patrick!”
