James Dodd switches to Nissan Primera for Donington race two
James Dodd will switch from his usual Honda Accord to a Nissan Primera following a mechanical issue during the first race at the Donington Park Historic Festival.
The reigning champion’s first race ended early with a clutch issue in the ex-James Thompson Honda Accord, a problem that will mean the Honda will not be seen again this weekend. Following his early retirement in race one, Dodd will now start the second race from the back of the grid.
Dodd will now switch to the 1998 Nissan Primera his father Graeme drove last season. James has driven the car before, taking a dominant victory at the 2013 Brands Hatch Historic Superprix in the Nissan, followed home by Derek Palmer, who now competes in the British Touring Car Championship for Infiniti Support Our Paras.
Graeme will also be out of action with an undiagnosed problem with the ex-Peter Kox Honda Accord.
